INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE

Christianity and Islam call for peace

The Holy Father Pope Francis has made interreligious dialogue one of the cornerstones of his pontificate. He has repeatedly emphasised how, in an increasingly interconnected world, dialogue between faiths and beliefs is a providential sign of the times, an 'antidote to extremism' and an 'urgent and indispensable service to the whole of humanity'. The interest of Pope Francis and the Holy See in the dialogue with other religions and cultures, and in particular with Islam, found expression in recent years in the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019, and in the participation in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue, during the Apostolic Journey of November 2022.
