Msgr. Mario BIFFI
Deputy Head of Mission
The Reverend Msgr. Mario Biffi was born on 25 November 1978 in Cuggiono (MI), Italy.
In 2003 he obtained a MA Degree in Oriental Languages and Civilisations (Sinology) from Ca' Foscari University in Venice.
In 2005 he entered the Seminary of Como, where he carried out his priesthood formation and theology studies, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree from the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy. He was ordained a priest on 11 June 2011 and is incardinated in the Diocese of Como.
He served as Parish Vicar from 2011 to 2013 and as Studio Assistant to the Bishop of Como from 2013 to 2014.
From 2015 to 2018, he attended the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome, where he prepared for diplomatic service. In 2018, having obtained his PhD in Canon Law at the Pontifical Lateran University, he entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See.
From 2018 to 2021 he served as Deputy Head of Mission of the Apostolic Nunciature in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.
On 1 July 2021, he was assigned to the Apostolic Nunciature in Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar.
In addition to Italian, he speaks English, French and Mandarin.
